Training for Your Nonprofit

Akron Community Foundation’s relationship with your organization does not begin or end with a grant decision. We are committed to helping you accomplish your mission in Summit County with training and education opportunities, including the following:

Multimedia training

The Akron Digital Media Center can help you get the word out about the good work your organization does in our community. Through a series of free workshops, your nonprofit’s employees and volunteers can learn how to create high-quality stories using digital video, photography, audio and other new-media tools. It also offers a free lending library of cameras, audio and lighting equipment. Stories and videos can be featured on its free online news website, the Akronist, which receives approximately 3,000 unique hits per month.

To learn more, contact Chris Miller, Akron Digital Media Center director.

Development training

Akron Community Foundation is working with local partners to bring you relevant workshops and seminars that will help you take your nonprofit fundraising to the next level. The topics will include: how to create a development plan; working with staff and board members to raise resources; moving prospective donors from cultivation to solicitation; and others that are germane to our nonprofit community.

Many of the training opportunities will provide continuing education credit. Stay tuned for more information about upcoming workshops and seminars.
