Impacting Targeted Populations and Regions

Through our seven affiliate funds – and the thousands of donors who support them and advisory board members who lead them – Akron Community Foundation is able to provide creative philanthropic solutions to targeted geographic regions and areas of interest.

In addition to the community foundation's broad quarterly funding that supports health, arts, education and civic affairs initiatives, grants from the foundation's affiliate funds strategically benefit programs serving women, children, LGBTQ+ individuals, the Black community, Bath Township, and the Green community.

Each affiliate fund has its own unique history and area of focus, as well as special events and fundraising opportunities, rallying support from thousands of like-minded donors across the community. Akron Community Foundation works closely with each group's advisory board to determine how they can make the most impact by funding trusted programs and innovative solutions. The funds' grantmaking dollars grow through a unique blend of endowment income and annual fundraising.
