Bath Community Fund Advisory Board

Advisory board members serve without pay to help the fund strengthen the community for current and future generations.

The diversity of the board enhances the fund's work in the community and provides a vast knowledge base. The following community leaders serve as board members. Click on their names for more information.

As a multi-media journalist, Jody Miller Konstand has been reporting on Bath Township since the early 1990s. She has covered the township’s political, governmental, civic and educational events as a writer for the West Side Leader, then as publisher/owner of the Bath Country Journal, and now as a special correspondent with the Akron Beacon Journal. In addition to print media, Jody worked in television for 14 years with Western Reserve Public Media/PBS Channels 45/49 as a news show panelist, host, producer, editor and writer. A graduate of Leadership Akron N.E.X.T., Class III, Jody has volunteered with a number of community organizations, including Akron Press Club, Bath Business Association, Bath Volunteers for Service, Crown Point Ecology Center, the Leadership Akron N.E.X.T. Outreach Committee, and the Haslinger Family Pediatric Palliative Care Center of Akron Children’s Hospital. Jody is a graduate of Bowling Green State University.

Nancy Fay is a member of the Bath Township Zoning Commission, where she helps regulate land use in the township and protect its rural character. Nancy is a lifelong Bath resident and a graduate of Revere High School. A former school teacher, Nancy has been a business owner for more than 40 years. She currently owns and operates The Bake Shop in Ghent and is a charter member of the Bath Business Association, where she serves as historian and past president. Nancy is a graduate of the University of Akron and Kent State University.

Kathy Sidaway serves on the Bath Park Board, where she helps preserve the township’s natural habitats, trails and parks. A resident of Bath for more than 30 years, Kathy is an active community volunteer. She previously served on her church’s education board and volunteered as a camp counselor. In addition, Kathy served two terms as president of the Revere Band Parents Association. Professionally, Kathy is an independent insurance broker who works with agents across the country to develop risk management solutions for their clients. She also writes for the Bath Country Journal. Kathy is a graduate of the University of Akron.

Kevin Kroskey is a certified financial planner and the president of True Wealth Design, a comprehensive wealth management firm in Bath. Kevin is passionate about helping people in the community through all aspects of financial planning, including retirement, investment, tax and estate planning. He previously served on the board of the Northeast Ohio Financial Planning Association. Both his family and business reside in Bath Township – a place he and his wife fell in love with and made their home in 2012. Kevin is a graduate of the University of Akron.

Jim Bernard is the retired vice president of Aetna Health Plans, where he worked for more than 30 years. He lives in Bath with his wife, Barbara, and is an active volunteer at Bath Church, where he recently received an award for his longtime service. In addition, he serves on the Destination Committee for the John S. and James L. Knight Center, as well as the Membership and Heritage committees at Fairlawn Country Club. Jim is a graduate of Western Michigan University.

Retired Senior Minister, Bath Church – United Church of Christ 

Rev. Mark Frey recently retired as the senior minister of Bath Church, where he served a 750-member congregation. Before becoming senior minister, Mark served as the church’s associate minister for 10 years. Prior to his work in ministry, Mark worked as a project coordinator for Habitat for Humanity and served as the national coordinator in central Africa. Locally, Mark is active with several nonprofit agencies, including Family Promise of Summit County. Mark is a graduate of Christian Theological Seminary and Heidelberg College.

Mary Anne Krejci is a Realtor with Howard Hanna who specializes in Bath Township and the surrounding areas. She is a longtime Bath resident and community volunteer, having served on the boards of the Bath Business Association, Bath Township Historical Society and many other local organizations. Mary Anne is a member of the Akron Area Board of REALTORS, the Ohio Association of REALTORS, and the National Association of REALTORS.

Owner, Time To Spare LLC 

Debbie McKinney is the owner of Time To Spare LLC, a corporate and nonprofit event planning and management service. In the past five years, Debbie has helped local nonprofit organizations raise nearly $2 million through annual fundraising events. A member of the Bath community for over 25 years, Debbie is a founding member of the Bath Business Association and an active volunteer through Bath Volunteers for Service and Bath Church United Church of Christ, among many other organizations. She is a member of Leadership Akron N.E.X.T. Class IV and the author of “Whatever Works for You: A Working Woman’s Guide to Surviving a Busy Life While Maintaining Peace.” Debbie shares her experiences through speaking workshops presented to businesses and community groups throughout Greater Akron.

Scott Siddall

Co-Founder and Board Chair, LONGSIGHT Inc.

After graduating from Revere and then Case Western Reserve University, Scott earned a doctorate in oceanography and served on graduate research faculties at the University of Miami and Stony Brook University. He brought his family back to Ohio as technology director at Kenyon College and then Denison University. Scott served in leadership roles of national and local organizations in both marine science and higher education technology. He worked with county leaders to provide free internet access to rural residents in his community and served as the local United Way chair. Along the way, he founded two software service companies, including LONGSIGHT Inc., from which he retired in 2018. Scott has extensive experience in developing and reviewing proposals and grant applications.

Robert Hemphill, M.D.

Community Volunteer

Robert Hemphill, M.D., is a lifelong resident of Summit County who, after serving in World War II, settled in Bath. In the late 1950s, he started a private medical practice and became associated with numerous community groups, including the United Way of Summit County. He later became president of the Summit County Historical Society and was one of the founders of the Bath Homeowners Association and the Bath Historical Society. Most recently, Dr. Hemphill has served as a trustee of the Summa Foundation, following a lifelong association with Summa Akron City Hospital.
