About Shefali

Dr. Shefali Mahesh is the Dr. Noah Miller Endowed Chair of Pediatrics at Akron Children's Hospital and Northeast Ohio Medical University. As a nephrologist, Dr. Mahesh specializes in all aspects of pediatric kidney care with a special interest in kidney failure, dialysis, and transplantation. She has been peer selected as “Best Doctors of America” since 2013. She is the recipient of the Healthcare Leadership Award from the National Kidney Foundation in 2019. She completed an Executive MBA from the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University. She is the recipient of the 2021 EMBA Leadership Award, and serves as a board member of the Akron Children's Hospital Foundation and National Kidney Foundation of Northern Ohio. Dr. Mahesh serves as the Chair of the Board of Directors of the Akron Children's Health Collaborative. She is an alumna of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University.
