Yesterday, Akron Community Foundation officials announced grants and distributions totaling $9.17 million for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2015, the highest single-year grant total in the organization’s 60-year history. In addition, President and CEO John T. Petures Jr. announced to a crowd of more than 250 people that the community foundation’s assets had reached an all-time high of $191.6 million.

Akron Community Foundation announced Joe Kanfer will be the 48th recipient of the community foundation’s Bert A. Polsky Humanitarian Award. Kanfer will receive the award at the annual Polsky Humanitarian Award Dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn.
