THIS IS A PAST EVENT

The Women's Endowment Fund of Akron Community Foundation announced its annual "Who Is Your SHEro?" campaign will run through April 30, with a goal to raise $60,000 to benefit women and girls in Greater Akron.

Community members are encouraged to make tribute or memorial gifts in honor of their SHEroes – the people who have made a significant impact on them as a parent, sibling, friend or mentor. In turn, those honored can receive a SHEro card letting them know a gift was made in their name, but not the amount.

Donations are fully tax deductible and ultimately support the Women's Endowment Fund's grantmaking to programs that improve the health and wellness, safety, and economic empowerment of women and girls in Summit County. As a permanent endowment, gifts made to the Women's Endowment Fund will benefit women and girls for years to come.

"The 'Who is your SHEro' campaign provides an opportunity to recognize the women you admire in your life, while having a positive impact on the women and girls in our community for generations to come," said Juanita Simpson, who is a co-chair of the SHEro campaign along with Joni Fitch and Holly Harris Bane. "It's an impactful campaign and seeing the joy it spreads across our community is truly rewarding."

This year, campaign organizers aim to reach $60,000 by using a team of SHEro ambassadors, each of whom has committed to raise at least $1,000 through their personal and professional networks. To read more about these ambassadors and track their fundraising progress, visit www.YourSHEro.org.
