Project GRAD Akron is a transformative nonprofit dedicated to ensuring that all students — regardless of background or circumstance — have the tools, resources, and encouragement to succeed in school and beyond. Since its founding in 2002 (as part of a national reform program with sites in other cities), Project GRAD Akron has been a driving force for educational equity, serving thousands of students and families across Akron Public Schools, proving its GRAD motto that Graduation Really Achieves Dreams.

Project GRAD Akron provides a continuum of support that begins as early as kindergarten and extends through high school graduation and beyond. Signature initiatives include literacy-based leadership development programs, summer and after-school enrichment opportunities, college and career classes and visits, mentoring, and scholarships. Together, these initiatives nurture academic achievement, build confidence, and help students envision futures that include college, career, and lifelong success.

The organization's impact is tangible: increased graduation rates, higher postsecondary enrollment, and countless individual success stories of students who might not otherwise have had access to such opportunities.
