Dale and Peggy Koblenzer Family Fund

Dale and Peggy Koblenzer's relationship with Akron Community Foundation began more than 20 years ago when the couple attended the foundation's 2001 Bert A. Polsky Humanitarian Award dinner honoring Clifford and Judith Isroff.
A few years later, Dale, who was a wealth management advisor at Merrill Lynch, joined Akron Community Foundation's board of directors. During his nine-year tenure from 2005 to 2014, Dale served on the foundation's Finance Committee and later became board treasurer.
As a well-respected financial advisor, Dale also played an integral role in shaping Akron Community Foundation's outside investment manager policy, which allows donors to recommend their personal investment advisor to manage the assets of their charitable fund. He was actually the first advisor to serve as an outside investment manager for the foundation.
Just before Christmas in 2010, Dale and Peggy established their own donor-advised fund at Akron Community Foundation. In the years following, the couple used the Koblenzer Family Fund to support many of their favorite nonprofit organizations, including Akron Children's NICU, Child Guidance & Family Solutions, Habitat for Humanity of Summit County, and Bluecoats.
In April 2024, Dale passed away after a short and courageous battle with cancer. To honor his remarkable legacy of community service, Peggy made a donation in Dale's name to their donor-advised fund, which she renamed the Dale and Peggy Koblenzer Family Fund.
"We as a family want to continue Dale's legacy of giving," said Peggy. "We believe Akron Community Foundation is an excellent avenue to support those organizations that are important to our family."
The fund will carry on Dale and Peggy's charitable legacy long into the future, ensuring their lasting impact on the Greater Akron community.
