BCF's Impact: Tuesday Musical Association

Tuesday Musical has been the heartbeat of Akron's music scene for more than a century. Since 1887, their stages have welcomed world-renowned artists — from Yo-Yo Ma to Wynton Marsalis — offering audiences unforgettable performances that entertain, inspire and connect.
But Tuesday Musical is more than concerts; it's a commitment to the next generation of music lovers. Their Education and Community Engagement programs open doors for students and adults across Northeast Ohio, providing in-school teaching residencies, masterclasses, open rehearsals and scholarship opportunities for college students. The organization's leaders make music accessible to all, proudly offering free concert tickets to students in Northeast Ohio.
Thanks to a $1,500 grant from the Bath Community Fund, Tuesday Musical is deepening its mission by partnering with Revere's orchestra program, led by Director Joshua Bowman and Cleveland-based classical music ensemble OPUS 216, for in-school music workshops. Students in grades 5-12 won't just learn music, they'll experience it. Students will explore the art of collaboration, refine ensemble techniques, and discover how music positively shapes lives. To ensure students' learning extends beyond the classroom, Tuesday Musical will also provide free concert tickets and bus funding, granting access to performances by some of the world's most outstanding musicians.
Music transforms, unites and uplifts. Through this funding, Tuesday Musical will enrich the lives of Revere students and families, ensuring that Akron's cultural legacy continues to thrive for generations to come.
