Both Phil and Alex Vukoder agree: Bath Township is a wonderful place to raise their three children with the open spaces, parks, and vibrant small-town experience found in Ghent and Hammonds Corners. They also appreciate the quality of education their children receive through the Revere School District. "We grew up in this area, so we were familiar with most of the communities. Bath caught our attention as soon as we drove in, and we knew this was the place for us," Phil said.

As it happens, when the Vukoders moved into Bath, the community gained more than a new family. Phil and Alex decided to immerse themselves in local nonprofit organizations and volunteer their time, talent and treasure to make a meaningful impact. Alex works as an executive at the Akron Art Museum, while Phil is a professional land surveyor with FirstEnergy. However, they both find time to be active volunteers for the Revere Baseball-Softball Association and coach their children’s sports teams. Alex has also been appointed to boards and committees for local nonprofits. Phil and Alex believe these efforts collectively foster a sense of unity and shared purpose, building a stronger and more vibrant community.

They also feel that contributing to local charities is an important part of their values. They believe this support creates a sense of shared responsibility and pride, encourages others to get involved, and strengthens community bonds. "We believe it is vitally important to give back," Alex said. "This idea is part of our core values, the fabric of who we are." Phil echoed Alex, saying, "By setting an example, you create a ripple effect, encouraging others to step forward and contribute."

However, determining which charities to support was a tough choice. So, when someone Alex respected and who cared about the community told her about Bath Community Fund, she decided to get involved. "As Bath Community Fund is an endowment fund, our donations will help the community today and tomorrow," Alex said. "They make smart use of their donations, and we like that."  Phil added: "In a way, this fund is a legacy; it is our legacy, and it is awesome to be part of it."

In every way, the Vukoders embody the spirit of our community. By taking small steps to volunteer their time and talent, as well as through their contributions to Bath Community Fund, they solidify their legacy of generosity and hope for future generations.
