BCF's Impact: Greenleaf Family Center

Categories:

By the time Jill Oldham took over as Chief Executive Officer of Greenleaf Family Services, the organization had served the local community by strengthening families through counseling, education, and support for well over 100 years. She stated, "We were started by Harvey Firestone and F.A. Seiberling as they set out to meet the needs of families in the community in the early 20th Century, and we continue to support thousands of individuals annually who face the challenges of daily living and personal crises that arise from a variety of issues including relationship issues, marital problems, and social, emotional and behavioral health concerns." She shared that the best part of her job is working with outstanding people.

A compassionate, understanding and dedicated staff who believe in the organization's mission is at the heart of Jill's work. She shared that the staff all share a goal of helping individuals and families improve their quality of life by effectively connecting people to resources and providing essential support. This is particularly evident in Greenleaf's work with students.

The professional counseling staff at Greenleaf provide services at local schools, including Revere Local School District, Coventry Local Schools, and Manchester Local Schools. She stated, "Our counselors want healthy students and  stronger families, which are essential for a thriving community."  She added, "Bath Community Fund's grant will be invaluable in enabling these students to access the assistance they need to be successful in a safe and trusted environment."

Honoring the great leaders of our past by continuing their vision of community-based support for current and future generations is in Greenleaf's DNA. This new grant from the Bath Community Fund can only prove to make an extraordinary difference in the Bath Community.
