About Ron

With nearly 40 years of experience, Ron Paydo was named the market president of Huntington Bank's Akron/Canton region in 2023. Previously, Ron worked as the Dedicated Business Banking Group Director and Community President in Medina, Ohio. Ron began his banking career with FirstMerit Bank, where he served as a regional president covering Medina, Richland and Ashland counties before becoming the director of small business banking. Upon FirstMerit's merger with Huntington, Ron became the area manager for Canton, Akron and the Mahoning Valley. Ron is very active in the community and serves on the boards of several organizations, including the American Red Cross of Greater Akron and Mahoning Valley, Scouting America's Great Trail Council, Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce, Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce, Medina County Economic Development Corporation, Cleveland Clinic – Medina Hospital, Salvation Army Wadsworth Corps, and the United Way of Summit & Medina. He is also a founder of the Bluecoats of Medina County and Main Street Wadsworth. Active in mentoring youth, Ron and his wife, Kathleen, have fostered more than 160 children. Together, they also hosted seven exchange students through the local Rotary Club.
