About Jim

Jim Nilsen retired from Albrecht Incorporated in 2019 after a long-standing career in accounting, trucking, grocery and commercial real estate development in the Greater Akron area. Prior to his work with Albrecht Incorporated, Jim had served at The Fred W. Albrecht Grocery Co., Hissong Group Inc., and Haskins & Sells. Jim is a lifelong resident of the Akron area and graduated from Kent State University, where he received a bachelor's degree in accounting. While in public accounting, Jim practiced as a CPA early in his career. Jim is an active member of the Akron community and has served on numerous boards, including Scouting America's Great Trail Council, the Greater Akron Chamber, Weathervane Playhouse and Child Guidance & Family Solutions. Jim has received numerous awards and recognitions, including the Outstanding Eagle Scout and William C. Zekan Spirit & Leadership awards from Great Trail Council, Scouting America. He was also named a trustee emeritus for both Weathervane Playhouse and Child Guidance & Family Solutions. A Class 3 graduate of Leadership Akron, Jim has also received Leadership Akron's Distinguished Leader Award.
