Green Community Fund Celebrates Nearly $300,000 in Contributions

The Green Community Fund, an affiliate of Akron Community Foundation, is pleased to announce that it has reached a significant milestone of nearly $300,000 in pledges and cash contributions toward its endowment. This achievement marks a major step forward in ensuring sustained support for the community's future needs.

The Green Community Fund was established to enhance the quality of life for residents in the city of Green by providing long-term financial resources for local nonprofit organizations and initiatives. Through strategic grantmaking, the fund aims to address pressing community needs and foster a stronger, more vibrant city.

"We are deeply grateful for the generosity of our donors and community members who have made this milestone possible," said Barry Hollis, co-chair of the Green Community Fund Advisory Board. "This substantial endowment will enable us to support impactful projects that benefit our community for generations to come."

The fund's mission aligns with the overarching goals of Akron Community Foundation, which seeks to build permanent philanthropic assets to address community challenges and opportunities. Contributions to the Green Community Fund help to create a lasting legacy of civic support, empowering nonprofits to make meaningful contributions to areas such as education, health, and environmental sustainability.

Established during the city's 30th anniversary year in 2022, the Green Community Fund is a permanent endowment dedicated to strengthening the city by supporting meaningful civic and community initiatives.
