The Bath Gamma Garden Club received a $1,000 grant to support patriotic beautification efforts in Bath Township Center.

On Friday, March 6, the Bath Community Fund of Akron Community Foundation awarded three grants totaling $10,000 to nonprofit organizations celebrating America's 250th anniversary this year.

A committee of Bath Community Fund Advisory Board members, donors and community leaders reviewed numerous applications for projects to commemorate the founding of the United States, while acknowledging the impact of Bath Township residents, past and present, on the community's history, environmental preservation, and arts and culture. The largest grant was awarded to Bath Township to support a free, all-day, family-friendly community celebration honoring America's history, founding ideals and civic spirit.

Kasha Brackett, Bath Township's assistant administrator, explained the purpose behind the event, saying, "Unified by an America-250 theme, the event is designed to foster civic pride, intergenerational engagement, and a shared appreciation for this once-in-a-generation national milestone."

Bath Community Fund Advisory Board Chair Rev. Mark Frey said, "Bath Community Fund is delighted to be able to grant $10,000 towards our community's celebration of America's 250th anniversary! Bath citizens helped to build Bath Community Fund, and now we can all enjoy the benefits of that work."

The following is a complete list of grants awarded:

  • Bath Gamma Garden Club, to support patriotic beautification efforts in Bath Township Center, $1,000
  • Bath Township, to support a free, all-day, family-friendly event honoring the United States of America's 250th anniversary, $8,500
