On Friday, Dec. 5, the Bath Community Fund of Akron Community Foundation awarded 19 grants totaling $40,000 to nonprofit organizations serving Bath Township. This latest round of grants brings the fund's cumulative grantmaking total to more than $340,000 since it was established in 2014.

Crown Point Ecology Center received a $3,000 grant to create a free healing garden and heritage trail.

Several of the grants awarded in 2025 will support recreational programming in the community, including a $7,000 grant to the Bath Park Board to install a new climbing dome at the recently renovated Bath Community Park. Other organizations receiving grants to support outdoor recreational programming include Girls On the Run Northeast Ohio, Hope Meadows Foundation and the Revere Baseball-Softball Association.

In addition, Crown Point Ecology Center will receive a $3,000 grant to create a free healing garden and heritage trail that will provide Bath residents with a space to practice wellness, reflection and community connection. "Students will gain a deeper appreciation for local history and ecology through art and storytelling, while families and older adults will enjoy an accessible trail and garden for rest and renewal," said Crown Point Ecology Center Executive Director Ian Roberts. "This project will also generate ripple effects for the local economy, supporting nearby shops, food establishments, and services. These outcomes create a lasting legacy that enriches quality of life, celebrates heritage, and connects generations of Bath residents now and in the future."

"Bath Community Fund's mission statement always drives our grantmaking efforts," said Diana McCool, chair of Bath Community Fund's Grant Committee. "This year, we also had the results of our community survey, so we were able to include the community's input when reviewing the many applications we received."
