The diversity of the board strengthens the fund's work in Medina County and provides a vast knowledge base. The following community leaders serve as board members. Click on their names for more information.

Brian Gale
Brian Gale

President, I.D. Images

Brian Gale is the president of I.D. Images, a label manufacturing company in Brunswick. He previously worked in investment banking, investment management and management consulting. Brian is active in the local community, serving on the boards of the Julie Billiart School and the Centers for Families and Children. He previously served on the board of the American Red Cross of Medina County. He is a graduate of Harvard University and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Brian Gehman
Brian Gehman

Director of Finance, Christian Children's Home of Ohio

Brian Gehman is the director of finance at Christian Children's Home of Ohio, which provides counseling, residential care, home-based services, foster care and adoption services to local families and children. Prior to joining Christian Children's Home of Ohio, Brian spent 18 years working for nonprofit organizations in Washington, D.C., and eight years as the chief financial officer of Cleveland Neighborhood Progress. He is a graduate of Eastern Mennonite University in Harrisonburg, Virginia.

Terry Pfleiderer
Terry Pfleiderer

Manager of Enterprise Applications, RPM International Inc.

Terry Pfleiderer develops and implements business systems for RPM International Inc., a Medina-based world leader in specialty coatings and sealants. He is a longtime member of the Cuyahoga Community College IT Advisory Committee. Terry is also a director for Bluecoats of Medina County. He previously served on the board of the Great Lakes Theater Festival and is a graduate of Leadership Medina County. Terry holds numerous professional and technical certifications from Microsoft, IBM, Cisco Systems, Hewlett-Packard, Bridgeport and the U.S. EPA.

Tim Smith

Sales Director, LightSpeed Hosting

Tim Smith is the sales director of LightSpeed Hosting. Tim was previously a member of the Medina County Board of Commissioners and the economic development manager for the City of Brunswick, where he strategically cultivated business and community growth to the tune of $200 million. Prior to that position, he worked as a national sales manager for a computer company before moving to and falling in love with Brunswick and Medina County. Tim also served as a Brunswick city councilman for five years and became chairman of the economic development committee, where he successfully targeted medical and educational institutions. He is deeply involved in his community and is president-elect of the Brunswick Optimist Club, chairman of Bike Medina County and chairman of Medina County CAN.

Denise Testa
Denise Testa

Director, University of Akron Medina

Denise Testa is the director of the University of Akron Medina where she is responsible for the leadership, student enrollment and community engagement. She previously served as associate director of student services and chairperson of the Student Services Support Task Force. Denise has served on a variety of boards including Leadership Medina County, Medina County Economic Development Corporation and Greater Medina Chamber of Commerce. She has won numerous awards, including the Greater Akron Chamber of Commerce’s “30 for the Future” award, which honors outstanding young professionals. Denise is an alumna of the University of Akron where she earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Jody Wheaton
Jody Wheaton

Executive Director, Client Solutions & Program Management, Corporate College, a division of Cuyahoga Community College

Jody Wheaton is the executive director of client solutions and program management at Corporate College, a division of Cuyahoga Community College. She uses her talents as a strategic thought leader, consultant and advisor to serve companies of all sizes that contribute to the economic growth of Northeast Ohio. Jody previously served on the Cleveland Society for Human Resource Management Board for seven years and was a founding member of the Cleveland Society for Human Resource Management Foundation Board, which she served on for two years. She also served as the Young Business Professional Chair for Hospice of the Western Reserve’s Walk to Remember fundraiser in 2015 and 2016, and she currently volunteers on the hospice’s Marketing Committee. Jody is a graduate of the 2016-17 Leadership Medina Signature Class. She has a bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree from Radford University.
