The mission of Bath Community Fund is to strengthen the Bath community for current and future generations by providing leadership, fostering collaboration and creating a legacy of charitable giving. It supports a wide range of programs that preserve the township’s historical and environmental legacy; enhance the local arts and culture landscape; serve youth through education and recreation; and meet residents’ social service needs. The Gay Community Endowment Fund serves as a catalyst for the full participation of LGBT people in our community and in society. Its grants support programs that positively impact lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and Greater Akron as a whole. Areas of focus include LGBT youth programs, the arts, health and wellness, and other programs that advance the fund’s mission. The mission of the Medina County Women’s Endowment Fund is to improve the quality of life for the county’s women and children. It also serves as a catalyst for needed projects and assists women in their growth as philanthropists. It funds programs that help women and children grow mentally, physically, emotionally, socially, artistically and personally. A partnership of Akron Community Foundation and the Akron Beacon Journal, the Millennium Fund for Children supports arts, civic, education, and health and human services projects for children living in the Beacon Journal’s circulation area. A partnership of the City of Akron and Akron Community Foundation, the Neighborhood Partnership Program helps neighborhood organizations revitalize communities throughout Akron. Funding helps clean up vacant lots, beautify neighborhoods, conduct block watches, hold meetings and celebrations for residents of all ages, and provide tutoring and after-school programs for children. Recipient organizations must have funding or in-kind support equal to the amount of their request.

The Parent Coalition Heritage Fund for Adults with Special Needs was established in 2011 to educate residential providers who care for adults with developmental disabilities to help improve their quality of life. The Rosalie and Cecil Smith Fund was established in 2007 by Cecil Smith in honor of his wife, Rosalie, to help reduce Summit County’s feral cat population and to spay and neuter cats and dogs living in low-income households. The fund accepts requests from applicants with experience in, or a firm understanding of, feral animal spay and neuter methods. Local organizations may be affiliated with regional or national organizations, but their programs must be executed in Summit County.
