We’re Mark and Shelly Allio, fundholders and friends of Akron Community Foundation. Some of our favorite memories shared as a couple and with loved ones involve food. In fact, we kid that our life revolves around three Rs: routine, ritual and the ridiculous. Suffice it to say, our meals live up to all three.
And while food is something we celebrate, it pains us knowing that some people in this community aren’t getting enough to eat. We believe it’s our responsibility to help them, and we choose to do so through our fund at Akron Community Foundation.
Akron Community Foundation makes our charitable investment go further. Last year, through their relationships with a local grocer and the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, we were able to make a grant that funded a discounted purchase of bulk turkeys, which the food bank then distributed to residents in need.
Nowhere else in town could offer us that kind of charitable help.
Their staff has information and knowledge about the immediate needs of our community, and they offer an efficient way of accomplishing your charitable purpose, whatever that might be. Their prudent financial and investment oversight leaves you to experience the joy of philanthropy versus the burden of administration. And, most importantly, their fiduciary standards guarantee your ability to improve the quality of life for our citizens in perpetuity, long after we’re gone.
Join us in this celebration of philanthropy at Akron Community Foundation. There’s a place for you at our table.
At Akron Community Foundation, there are charitable resources for everyone. What can we help you with?
