Jim Brocklehurst,
Advisory Board Chair

Medina County residents care about their communities, and so do we. The Medina County Community Fund continues its dedication to enhancing the quality of life from Hinckley to Brunswick and Westfield to Wadsworth, and I am honored to be the new advisory board chair. We have a dynamic and committed advisory board that remains focused on our fund's four focus areas, or "pillars," of funding: arts and culture, community service, education and health.

In June, we hosted our annual meeting, Spark Hope, where we announced a total of $33,700 in grants to 15 nonprofit organizations in the county; honored our fund founders, Jack Holland and Nobby Lewandowski; and raised funds through a fantastic dessert auction. I would like to say a big thank you to advisory board member Michelle Masica, who spearheaded the event and coordinated all the bakeries and restaurant owners who donated the desserts.

As we look at the year ahead, we are singularly focused on growing the fund through enhanced awareness, increased small-group meetings with individuals and businesses, and meetings with our nonprofit leaders to further understand the changing needs of our communities.

Please feel free to contact me, or any advisory board member, to discuss how you can help make a difference. We welcome community members to join any of our standing committees and to consider becoming a donor. I hope you will join us on this journey to enhance the lives of all residents in Medina County!

Sincerely,
Jim Brocklehurst, Chair
