MCCF Advisory Board thanks outgoing board members
Longtime Medina County Community Fund Advisory Board member Brian Gehman served the maximum three terms, and we wish to thank him for his dedication and service. Born and raised in eastern Pennsylvania, Brian graduated from Eastern Mennonite University with a degree in business administration, then lived and worked in Washington, D.C., for 19 years. While there, he met his wife, Christine Parmelee Gehman, who grew up in Wadsworth. They moved to Medina County in 2006 to raise their children near extended family. Brian, who has worked for nonprofit organizations his entire career, took a job as chief financial officer for Cleveland Neighborhood Progress for nine years. Since 2015, he has been the director of finance for the Christian Children's Home in Wooster. Brian has three children, Abigail, a junior at Grove City College; Janelle, a freshman at Mount Vernon Nazarene University; and Josiah, a junior at Medina High School. In his spare time, Brian enjoys gardening, camping, hiking and home improvements.
Reflecting on his time on the board, Brian said, "It has been my privilege to serve on the MCCF Advisory Board for the past nine years, chairing the Grant Distribution Committee this past year. I have become more aware of the many great nonprofit organizations sacrificially serving throughout Medina County to combat a wide variety of needs. It has solidified my belief in the significance of an endowment fund for ongoing funding to support their work in addressing the needs of Medina County. It has been my pleasure to help build upon the vision of the co-founders of the MCCF, Nobby Lewandowski and Jack Holland, and I am confident that current and future leadership will enable the endowment fund to continue to grow and provide even greater impact in the years and decades to follow."
Also stepping down from the advisory board after one term is Mark Dorman, president of Dorman Legacy Advisors and Legacy Business Advisors. Mark served as chair of the MCCF Fund Development Committee, as well as being active in Medina County Economic Development Corp., Leadership Medina County, and Medina County Port Authority. Mark and his wife, Tanya, have four children. When not serving the community, Mark enjoys cycling and golf.
