A letter from our co-chairs: Thank you for your support

In welcoming this new year, we're also reflecting on the previous years that have allowed our fund to grow and support Medina County's residents in need. In December, we celebrated a significant milestone – our 25th anniversary as a fund dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals living from Hinckley to Brunswick and Westfield to Wadsworth.
As a fund of Akron Community Foundation, we benefit from the foundation's investment strategies to grow our endowment as well as its 64-years of history and local knowledge of serving nonprofits in Summit and Medina County. To date, the Medina County Community Fund has grown to an endowment of more than $980,000, and over the years, we've awarded more than $570,000 back into the community. This funding has positively impacted more than 100 local nonprofit organizations. Our grantmaking efforts uphold our mission of supporting the cultural, educational, health and community services needs of our community.
This year, we're also looking at different strategies to continue the growth of our endowment. One of these strategies is through a concentrated effort of major gift development. This spring, we will begin to host small home gatherings to educate Medina County residents about MCCF's impact in the community and how major giving to our fund will support our mission to improve the quality of life for all residents, now and forever.
We recognize our silver anniversary would not be possible without our donors, and we thank you for your support and allowing us to improve the quality of life for Medina County residents.
Sincerely,
Bill Heck & Brian Gale
