ACF celebrates record new funds and historic grant total at annual meeting »

Yesterday, Akron Community Foundation officials announced record grants and distributions for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2016. In total, the community foundation’s more than 530 funds made $9.5 million in grants and distributions, the highest single-year total in the organization’s 61-year history.

Investment veteran, philanthropist and multiple sclerosis advocate Jim Oelschlager and his wife, Vanita, were named the 49th recipients of Akron Community Foundation’s Bert A. Polsky Humanitarian Award. They will receive the award at the community foundation’s annual Bert A. Polsky Humanitarian Award dinner on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the Hilton Akron/Fairlawn.
