Medina County Women's Endowment Fund's Seasons of Giving event to feature Romona Robinson
The Medina County Women's Endowment Fund of Akron Community Foundation will welcome Romona Robinson, eight-time Emmy Award-winning news anchor, speaker, and author, as the featured speaker at its Seasons of Giving event on June 13.
Robinson is one of the most respected and admired journalists in northeast Ohio. Her work has led to inductions in both the Press Club of Cleveland Journalism Hall of Fame and Broadcasters' Hall of Fame of Ohio. She has received several prestigious awards including the Edward R. Murrow Award, EWAW's Alpha Woman Award, YWCA's Women of Achievement Award, and Diversity in Media Award. Robinson's many philanthropic endeavors include creating the long-standing television program, "Romona's Kids", which highlights and encourages local children to realize their full potential. For the past 20 years, she has also served as honorary chair of the Susan G. Komen Northeast Ohio Race for the Cure.
"We're honored to have Romona as our featured speaker for this year's Seasons of Giving event," said Mary Isaac, advisory board chair of the Medina County Women's Endowment Fund. "Throughout her life, Romona has worked tirelessly to help others. It's wonderful that our guests will be able to learn from her story and hopefully grow as philanthropic community leaders."
The Medina County Women's Endowment Fund will also welcome Judge Jennifer Hensal of the 9th District Court of Appeals as its event emcee. Through her career, Judge Hensal has been active in Medina County, serving in Lodi, Medina, Seville and Wadsworth.
