Description

Each year, Summit Education Initiative (SEI) releases "indicators of success," measurements that represent milestones of a child’s education, which also can be used as a predictor of future prosperity. These metrics have helped a range of educational partners, from parents to preschool teachers and school administrators. With this data, community partners can work from the same page in setting students on a productive path for careers and life.

During our Community Issues Session, Wimer will provide an update on these educational indicators, part of the organization's annual report to the community. The session also will feature Shelley Houser, director of the University of Akron’s Center for Literacy, who will discuss the Key Steps for Reading Success, which has helped elevate Summit County’s 3rd Grade Reading Goal.

The free event will include light refreshments and a Q&A with the panelists. RSVP at https://bit.ly/2NufWdm.
