From our president: An exciting year ahead for MCWEF

Happy New Year! I hope you and your family are enjoying 2019 so far! We have another busy and exciting year planned for the Medina County Women’s Endowment Fund.

Through the month of February, our fund is accepting grant applications for programs that address the needs of Medina County’s women and children. In addition to traditional funding this year, we will continue to award a significant impact grant that focuses on the community’s most pressing needs. We’re proud to announce that this year’s impact grant will focus on local programs that empower and enable women or girls under the age of 25. We feel that it’s important to support programs that will benefit future leaders in our community.

Plans are also in full swing for our Seasons of Giving event to be held on June 13 at the Blue Heron Event Center in Medina. We are excited to announce that this year we will welcome Romona Robinson, Emmy Award-winning television journalist, author and philanthropist, as our event featured speaker. We are honored and privileged to have Romona at our event.

We are also pleased to announce Judge Jennifer Hensal of the 9th District Court of Appeals will serve as our event emcee. Judge Hensal has worked in the Medina County community for several years and is an active supporter of the Medina County Women’s Endowment Fund. This year’s Seasons of Giving event will truly be a remarkable evening.

Outside of our annual event, we are also organizing other efforts to promote and strengthen the mission of the Medina County Women’s Endowment Fund. We are working diligently to spread our message in all regions of Medina County. It’s vital for our residents and nonprofit organizations to understand our purpose and ability to assist the community.

I welcome you to join us in 2019 to help spread our message of philanthropy for women and children. There are so many ways to get involved, regardless of where you are in your life. Some examples include communicating our mission throughout the community, contributing to our Legacy Tree of Giving campaign, or simply volunteering with us.

With your help, the Medina County Women’s Endowment Fund will continue to grow and assist deserving nonprofit organizations that benefit women and children in our community for years to come!
